Finca Ladero boasts high altitude vineyards looking out across the Ebro Valley. Positioned above the fan-shaped formation of the Monte de Yerga foothills in the heart of Rioja Oriental, the six-hectare Finca Ladero estate lies on the very frontline between two contrasting climates. Here, the arid inland Mediterranean climate and fresh, relatively moist weather experienced by the higher foothills of the Iberian Mountain range meet and collide.
This unique area offers exceptional conditions for cultivating vines. Tempranillo and Garnacha grow in perfect harmony in alluvial soils with a chalky substrate and fertile, perfectly balanced microbiome. The mountain air, native fauna, and slight Atlantic influence that come from its north-facing orientation are all elements contributing to create a radiant wine, whose elegance is tangible.

The combination of the tempranillo (80%) and garnacha (20%) varieties reflects the most distinctive identity of the Yerga mountains. It is the balance between the profound character and the authenticity that it gets from the proximity to a harsh world for plants; between the stimulating acidity and vibrant juiciness. A luminous wine, with tangible complexity, ebullient with energy and vigour.
