Finca Valhonta breathes balance from a high altitude, and virgin forest. Close to the small town of Villalba, on the outermost limits of Rioja Alta, Finca Valhonta is surrounded and protected by the pine forest that covers the slopes of the Montes Obarenes. Due to its altitude and climatic conditions, with marked continental and Atlantic influences, this is the very limit of where vines can grow.

The raised bush vines of Tempranillo stand tall, as if proudly displaying their determined ability to withstand the cold,windy conditions of these highlands. The chalky soils and tenacious vines are home to a rich and healthy microbiological life, which, in natural harmony with the microclimate and location, expresses itself in the uni­que finesse of the wines of the Valhonta vineyard.
